This big spider looms by the front door of the Fidelity Title Company in Albuquerque. His cousin, in Haiti, was smaller but real and more menacing.

Spiders usually hide in dark corners, under rotting timbers, in holes and crevices, away from the light and especially away from people.

He quivers, as my realtor and I move past, coming to sign papers for my new house.

In older times, people paid with cash, but, now, credit is the biggest spider in the room and I’ll be paying on this purchase for the rest of my life.

It is going to take a giant terminator to get rid of this big boy.

Credit is sweet but it’s bite comes with long term consequences.
